To upload video
To upload a video, click on “Videos” in the main tool bar.
You’ll be redirected to the videos page, where you can click on the “Add Videos” button in the upper right-hand corner.
On the left side of the screen is a browser window entitled “My Computer.” Click on the video you want to upload and – holding down the mouse button – drag the video to the right. If you want to drag multiple videos over, simply hold the shift button down as you highlight the videos you want to drag over. Once they’re all highlighted, click on the block of videos and drag them to the right all at once. You can upload 30 videos at a time. Once you’re finished selecting videos, click the “Next” button at the bottom right.
You’ll be redirected to a window where you can enter information about your videos. The top menu, “Information for All Videos,” has information that can apply to every video. For example, if all of your videos are from the same event, type the name of the event in one of the text boxes. This same menu gives you sharing options – do you want your videos to be seen by anyone? Just your friends? Only you? Click on the box that applies. Be sure to click “Apply this info to the videos below.”
The text boxes below “Information for All Videos” pertain to the individual Videos. If you would like to enter individual descriptions for each video, this is where you’ll do it. Once you’re finished, click the “Upload” button.
If you’d like to embed the video within a news posting or discussion, you can either move your cursor to the upper right corner of the video or click on “Get Embed Code” just below the video. A code will pop up that you can copy to your clipboard and paste directly into any discussion. To comment on a video
First, scroll down to the comment box below the video, fill out the text box and click “Add Comment.”
If you’d like to send a message to the MyTown Colorado member who posted the video, underneath the user’s profile is a “Send Message” button you can click.
Rating videos is easy. Simply go under the video to the set of stars on the right.
