Stephen Lekson (Curator of Anthropology and Professor, UCB) talk will highlight his new book, A History of the Ancient Southwest, which challenges and reconfigures the accepted conventions and classifications of the region. He tells two parallel stories, one about the development, personalities, and institutions of Southwestern archaeology and the other about interpretations of what actually happened in the ancient past.
He will be signing books after the talk.
