It was taken at 5:30 pm on Apr 27th 2017 with a Pentax K-3 with Sigma 50-500mm tele at F6.3  1/500 sec  ISO 200

Thank you. I shoot with a Nikon and my largest lens I have 55-300mm. Do you think that would have done a good job. It is a telephoto lens.

Although I've been taking photos and video for many years I am by no means professional.  As you probably already know, the quality of the glass and the quality of the light are of utmost importance.  My advice would be to get as close as you can to the subject if you're shooting wildlife.  I've seen many of your photos on this website and I think you do a great job.  If you're using a 55-300mm for most of those shots, I think it's working well.
