Holiday Festival complete with Santa, crafts, music and cheer

The Carbon Valley Holiday Festival was another huge hit for the communities of Firestone, Frederick and Dacono on Dec. 6, 2014, as the communities present a day full of holiday events and fun.

The festivities kicked off in Firestone with activities at Coal Ridge Middle School. Kids shared their wish lists and took photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Kids also let their creativity flow at Santa’s Workshop, where they made gifts and ornaments. The Home Depot in Firestone was also present and worked with kids to paint tile ornaments. The Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District was on hand for kids to talk with firemen and have photos taken. Local performances included dances by Axis of Movement, the Heartland Quartet from the Longmont Chorale and the Coal Ridge Middle School Hand Bell Choir.

The Carbon Valley Holiday Festival was sponsored by the Town of Firestone, City of Dacono and Town of Frederick, as well as local sponsors. The title sponsor was I-25 Kia. Presenting sponsors were Anadarko Petroleum Corp., Encana Oil & Gas, Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District and the Carbon Valley Consumer Report. Gold sponsors include United Power and The Home Depot-Firestone. Hot cocoa sponsors included Starbucks and The Brew at Deja lu. The cookie sponsor was State Farm Malyka Korgan. Santa’s Little Helper Sponsors included Amy’s Closet, B&L Towing and Safeway.
