When you think of a fairy you might think of little creatures with wings, but there are so many more types of Fae: there are Leprechauns, Dragons, Pixies, Mermaids, more!

Have you ever met a dragon or a leprechaun? You can at the Festival of Faerie in Lafayette on Saturday, June 18th. Come and celebrate with the faerie kingdom of LaFete.

Strap on your wings and grab the wee ones, you’re in for a great ride at the 5th annual Lafayette Festival of Faerie. This year's questing theme is, Sea a Fae: Find a Treasure; join us once again for flights of imagination, fun, and magic. The parade kicks-off from the parking lot area next to The Post on West Emma Street, at 10am, on Saturday June 18, 2016.

The largest festival in Lafayette of its kind features tons of free activities for the whole family. Parents and children have been delighted in year’s past by the ever-popular quest where children learn/practice drum beats, magic tricks, crafts, and participate in storytelling. Come and re-discover the arts and the art of living! Join us for the costume contests, for both children and adults, because here at the Festival of Faerie we believe dressing up fancy is for everyone. Why should the kids have all the fun? Are you one of those adults whose glad rags include glitter and brightly colored taffeta? Or  swords and leather vests? If so, this is your chance to shine!

Don’t have any wings or swords or elfish ears, and still want to get in the fun? Our vendors can set you up.

Not only that, the fabulous Blades of Moria, a community theatrical troupe that performs with live steel at fairs' and festivals throughout the Front Range of Colorado, will return for another great year of storytelling and swordplay.

Also not-to-be missed -- the crowning of the festival queen of LaFete. This year the Fae Queen is a real tail-flipper: Enid the mermaid. She will be crowned in a magical ceremony by last year’s dynamic Fairy Queen, Aislynn.

Events to take place along South Public Road, starting at Festival Plaza (400 South Public Road).
